Draft Assessment: Jacob

As a former blogger of Inside Survivor, Jacob may be the biggest Survivor superfan in this cast, which could either help him or hurt him. He compares himself to Stephen Fishbach and David Wright, “neurotic Jewish guys” who both did well in their freshman seasons. However, Jacob’s self-deprecating humor is more akin to Cochran. Let’s hope that he’ll be more Cochran 2.0 (winner of Survivor: Caramoan) and less Cochran 1.0 (loser of Survivor: South Pacific). He could find himself on the outs quickly if his sense of humor grates on his tribemates; however, he claims he can “haul firewood and follow instructions,” so he may be able to fall in line when needed and also use his humor and affability to disarm his tribemates and form alliances early.

Bottom line: Jacob may be a smart Sole Survivor pick because like David Wright, Stephen Fishbach, or John Cochran, he could use his Survivor knowledge, sense of humor, and smart strategy to make it to the end. However, he could also be voted out early if he is deemed too strange or obnoxious by the rest of his tribe.
